THE RUNWAY TO RESILIENCE! RAISING FUNDS FOR HALTON WOMEN’S PLACE
An exceptional evening of community, fun and friendship took place at The Pearle Hotel and Spa in Downtown Burlington on Thursday April 2nd, just before the Easter weekend. What started as an idea for a fundraiser among a few Downtown Burlington business women turned into a glamorous fashion show that raised approximately $100,000 for Halton Women’s Place.
The sold-out event brought together the broader Burlington community. RE/MAX Escarpment realtors became models for the evening and walked the runway, raising over $50,000 for Halton Women’s Place. They were joined by some local community members, showing off the latest fashions provided by local fashion boutiques – see the list of participating stores below. 322 tickets were sold and almost 40 models volunteered to walk the runway and raise funds for the event.
In addition to the fashion show, guests were invited to buy 100 beautiful golden eggs for $100 each, provided by Christy’s Gourmet Gifts. They sold out in the first 20 minutes! Custom designed bracelets made by Saskia de Vries were also available for sale and sold out. Musical stylings for the night were brought by DJ Brock Stacey from Beaux Florals. Guests enjoyed cocktails, appetizers and snack boxes during the show, and left with an amazing swag bag at the end of the night.
Toronto Dominion Bank, the main event sponsor, as well as numerous other sponsorships at various levels, showed that the sky is the limit when an engaged and passionate community comes together to support a worthwhile cause!
